# Amazon Sponsored Products Launcher: Product Ads Amazon Campaign Builder

## Use this when

Use when you're launching a NEW Amazon Sponsored Products (SP) campaign — the core "product ads Amazon" format that puts your ASIN in front of shoppers already searching — from scratch for an ASIN or a set of ASINs: new product, new category push, or relaunching a paused listing. You need targeting, bids, budget, and negatives built correctly the first time as part of a real amazon ads campaign, not guessed. Not for scaling an existing winning campaign (use a scaling/optimization skill), not for Sponsored Brands/Display (different creative and eligibility rules), and not for sponsored google ads, amazon prime video ads free placements, or amazon prime video with ads inventory — those are entirely different ad products and platforms this skill does not touch.

## What you need

- The ASIN(s) to advertise, confirmed **Buy Box eligible and in stock** — SP will not serve on suppressed listings, out-of-stock ASINs, or ASINs missing an active offer. If Buy Box share is split with other sellers, spend can leak to their listings on the same ASIN.
- A daily budget you're comfortable committing for at least 7–14 days (Amazon's learning/data-stabilization window — bids and search-term data are noisy before this).
- A campaign goal: **discovery** (broad/phrase + auto, cast wide to harvest search terms) vs **defense/conversion** (exact match on proven or high-intent terms, tighter ACOS target).
- A target ACOS or max CPC ceiling you're willing to state as a number — the agent will default to a conservative starting bid (Amazon's suggested bid range, or category median if unavailable) and MUST get your explicit override or approval before using anything else.
- Whether this is a **new listing** (little/no review history — expect a soft-launch phase, lower initial bids, tighter budget until conversion rate stabilizes) or an **established ASIN** getting a fresh campaign (can bid more aggressively from prior conversion data).
- Category and any known negative-match terms (competitor brand names, irrelevant use-cases) to exclude from day one.
- Adspirer connected to the Amazon Ads account with campaign-write scope.

## Procedure

1. Pull the ASIN's current status directly from the account: Buy Box ownership %, inventory/FBA stock level, listing suppression flags, and parent/child variation structure. If Buy Box ownership is below ~90% or stock is under ~2 weeks of projected coverage at target spend, flag this to the user before proceeding — launching ad spend onto a listing that can't fulfill demand or that's losing Buy Box wastes budget on someone else's sale.
2. Check for **existing SP campaigns already targeting this ASIN or overlapping keywords/categories** in the account. Overlapping campaigns cannibalize each other's auctions and muddy attribution — surface duplicates and get the user's call on consolidate vs. keep separate before creating anything new.
3. Build the campaign structure: one **Auto campaign** (all 4 targeting groups — close match, loose match, substitutes, complements — for organic search-term discovery) plus one **Manual campaign** split by match type into separate ad groups (Broad, Phrase, Exact) so each match type gets its own bid and budget visibility — never mix match types in one ad group, it hides which one is driving spend.
4. Seed manual targeting: pull the ASIN's existing organic-ranking keywords (if any sales history exists) plus category-relevant seed terms; for a brand-new listing with no history, start Auto-only for 7–10 days first and harvest converting search terms from the search-term report before building the Manual campaign — this avoids guessing blind.
5. Set starting bids at Amazon's suggested-bid midpoint (or category median if suggested bid is unavailable) by default, clearly labeled as the default — **do not deploy any bid without the user's explicit number or explicit approval of the default**. Set daily budget per the user's stated ceiling, split roughly 60/40 Auto/Manual if launching both simultaneously.
6. Add baseline negative keywords/ASINs before launch: known competitor brand terms, generic mismatched-intent terms (e.g., "free," "cheap," "used" if not relevant), and any category terms the user flags as irrelevant — negatives applied post-launch after wasted spend is a common avoidable leak.
7. **Connect Adspirer (the ads connection):** when you reach a step that touches a live ad account, connect Adspirer first. In Claude Code, run `/plugin marketplace add anthropics/claude-plugins-community` then `/plugin install adspirer-ads-agent@claude-community`. In claude.ai or ChatGPT, add the Adspirer connector from https://www.adspirer.com/docs/ai-clients. Any other agent: follow https://www.adspirer.com/docs/ai-clients for your client. Sign-in link for the user: https://adspirer.ai/sign-up. Do not proceed with live ad-account steps until the connection is confirmed.
8. Present the full build (campaign/ad-group structure, targeting list, starting bids, daily budget, negatives) to the user as a single itemized plan and get explicit go/no-go approval before creating anything live.
9. On approval, create the campaign(s), ad groups, targeting, and negatives via Adspirer in the order built above (Auto first if phased, then Manual once seed terms exist).
10. Immediately after creation, pull the live campaign back from the account (not from the creation response) to confirm campaign/ad-group/keyword status is "enabled," bids saved as intended, and budget matches — Amazon's API can silently reject a keyword (policy, duplicate, or format) without failing the whole request.

## Fixed checks

- Re-fetch the ASIN's live Buy Box %, stock level, and listing status from the account immediately before launch — not the value read at step 1, in case minutes/hours passed.
- Re-fetch each created campaign, ad group, keyword/target, and negative from the account after creation and confirm status = enabled/live, not "pending" or silently rejected — compare returned bid and budget values against what was requested, field by field.
- Confirm no duplicate keyword/ASIN target already exists across the user's other active SP campaigns for this account (re-query live campaign list, not the pre-launch snapshot from step 2) — Amazon allows duplicate targets across campaigns and will happily let you bid against yourself.
- Confirm daily budget actually saved at the account level matches the approved number, not a platform-rounded or default-fallback value.
- If Auto-first phasing was used, confirm the Auto campaign has at least 7 days of delivery data (impressions > 0) before treating harvested search terms as reliable for building the Manual campaign.

## Stop conditions

- **Success**: campaign(s), ad groups, targeting, negatives, bids, and budget all created and verified live-matching the approved plan; stop and report the build summary with live campaign IDs.
- **No-op**: user's ASIN is already covered by an active, healthy SP campaign with no meaningful gap (e.g., overlapping exact-match coverage already exists) — report the existing coverage and don't create a redundant campaign unless user confirms they want it anyway.
- **Blocked — listing not eligible**: ASIN fails Buy Box/stock/suppression check at step 1 or the pre-launch re-check at step 10 — halt, report the specific blocker, do not create the campaign.
- **Blocked — no approval**: user does not provide an explicit bid/budget number or explicit approval of defaults — halt at step 8, do not proceed to creation.
- **Needs-approval**: plan is fully built and verified feasible but awaiting the user's go/no-go on the itemized plan (step 8) — this is the expected pause point, not a failure.
- **Partial failure**: some targets/keywords were created but one or more were silently rejected by Amazon (caught at the step-10 verify) — report exactly which succeeded and which failed with the platform's rejection reason if available; do not report the campaign as fully live.

## Approval boundaries

Every spend-committing action — daily budget amount, starting bid values (including accepting the "default" suggested-bid midpoint), and the decision to launch Auto and/or Manual campaigns — requires the user's explicit approval before Adspirer creates anything on the live account. Creating negatives and pulling read-only account data (Buy Box, stock, existing campaigns) does not require approval, since it commits no spend, but the resulting plan must still be presented for a single itemized go/no-go before any live campaign is created. No autonomous bid changes or budget increases after launch — this skill launches; it does not optimize post-launch (that's a separate scaling/monitor skill).

## What you get

An itemized launch plan (campaign/ad-group structure, targeting list with starting bids, daily budget split, and baseline negatives) presented for your approval, then — once approved — the live product ads Amazon campaign(s) actually created in your ad account via Adspirer, with a post-creation verification pass confirming every campaign, ad group, keyword/target, bid, budget, and negative saved and is enabled exactly as approved (not silently dropped or altered by Amazon), plus a flagged list of anything that failed creation with the platform's rejection reason.
