See it in action

In Gemini CLI

Show my linked Google Merchant Center accounts (link one if none is connected), then create a Standard Shopping campaign at $50/day. Break the products into partitions by product type and give me a bid on each. Leave it paused so I can review.

Launch a Standard Shopping campaign — End-to-end Shopping launch — Merchant Center link, campaign, and a product partition tree, created paused.

Overview

Adspirer is the MCP server that connects Gemini CLI to your Google Shopping ad accounts, turning campaign management into a chat conversation. Google's Gemini CLI with MCP support. On the platform side, 11 tools cover standard Shopping campaigns that advertise products straight from your Google Merchant Center feed — image, title, and price, no per-product ad building. Adspirer reads and writes — pull performance reports, audit link your merchant center feed, launch new campaigns, pause underperformers, and reallocate budget — all from chat. New campaigns are always created paused so you can review before they go live, Adspirer cannot delete existing campaigns by design, and the free tier (15 tool calls / month, no credit card) is enough to run a full audit before you pay. Setup takes about 60 seconds via one CLI command.

Safety guarantees

  • New campaigns always created paused for review

  • Adspirer cannot delete existing campaigns

  • Budget changes need explicit confirmation

  • OAuth 2.1 + PKCE — passwords never seen

What you can do

11 tools across Google Shopping. The ones you'll use most:

  • Link your Merchant Center feed — `link_merchant_center` connects a Google Merchant Center account to Google Ads so its products become eligible to advertise. `get_merchant_center_links` lists what's already connected and `unlink_merchant_center` removes a link — Shopping can't run until a feed is attached.

  • Launch Standard Shopping campaigns — `create_shopping_campaign` builds a Standard Shopping campaign off a linked Merchant Center feed and creates it **paused** so you review before it goes live. `add_shopping_ad_group` sets up the ad group inside it.

  • Advertise straight from the feed — no per-product ad — `add_shopping_product_ad` adds the single product ad that surfaces your feed items. Google pulls the product image, title, and price directly from Merchant Center, so you never build a creative per SKU.

  • Bid by brand, category, or item with product partitions — Build a **product partition tree** with `add_product_group`, `get_product_groups`, `update_product_group`, and `remove_product_group` — subdivide the feed by brand, category, product type, or item ID and set an independent bid on each partition.

  • Check Shopping settings & inventory filter — `get_shopping_settings` shows a campaign's Merchant Center ID, target country, and inventory filter — the feed subset it's allowed to advertise — so you can confirm the campaign is pointed at the right catalog.

  • Pull performance by Shopping campaign — `get_campaign_performance` returns spend, conversions, CPA, and ROAS for your Shopping campaigns — the numbers behind the "which products or partitions are below my ROAS target?" question, so you can rebid the tree.

Campaign types

Every Google Shopping format Adspirer supports — request one in chat.

Standard Shopping

Product ads pulled straight from your Merchant Center feed — Google shows the image, title, and price. The core retail format for e-commerce with a product catalog.

Performance Max for retail

Pair Shopping with retail PMax via asset-group listing filters (`add_asset_group_listing_filter`) to scope a PMax asset group to a slice of the same feed — full-funnel shopping coverage across every Google channel.

Product partition tree

Structure the feed into product groups by brand, category, product type, or item ID and bid each independently — bid bestsellers up, low-margin items down, without touching the campaign.

Feed-based inventory filter

The campaign's inventory filter (via `get_shopping_settings`) decides which Merchant Center products it advertises — scope a campaign to one country, brand, or catalog segment instead of the whole feed.

More prompts to try

Gemini CLI is in active development; expect rough edges.

Connect Merchant Center — Verifies and sets up the Merchant Center link that every Shopping campaign requires.

Connect Merchant Center
Which Google Merchant Center accounts are linked to my Google Ads account right now? If none are connected, link my Merchant Center feed so its products are eligible to advertise, then confirm the link.

Restructure product partitions — Rebids an existing partition tree by brand for margin control.

Restructure product partitions
On my "Holiday Shopping" campaign, subdivide the product partition tree by brand. Raise the bid 20% on my top-selling brand, cut it 30% on the two lowest-ROAS brands, and show me the full tree with the new bids before you apply anything.

Who this is for

In-house growth marketer running Google Shopping solo

Each Monday, ask Gemini CLI to pull last week's Google Shopping performance, surface campaigns running below your ROAS threshold, and recommend creative refreshes for fatigued ads.

Replaces a 60–90 minute manual review with a 5-minute chat, and surfaces problems before they tank ad-set performance.

Common questions

FAQ

Setup

Do I need a developer to set this up?

Some terminal comfort helps but you don't need to be a developer — adding the MCP server is one command (claude mcp add --transport http adspirer https://mcp.adspirer.com/mcp or the equivalent for your CLI). OAuth happens in your browser. Total time: about 60 seconds.

What do I need in my product feed before launching?

You need an approved product feed already live in Google Merchant Center — Adspirer advertises that feed, it does not build or fix the feed itself. Once your products are approved in Merchant Center and the account is linked, create_shopping_campaign and add_shopping_product_ad surface those items using the feed's image, title, and price.

Capabilities

Can I switch from Gemini CLI to a different AI client later?

Yes. Your Adspirer account is independent of the AI client — sign up once, then connect the same MCP URL from ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, or any supported client. Tool calls are pooled across clients on the same plan; switching costs you nothing.

Do I have to link Merchant Center before running Shopping?

Yes. Shopping campaigns advertise products from a Google Merchant Center feed, so you must link a Merchant Center account first with link_merchant_center — this makes its products eligible to advertise. Use get_merchant_center_links to see what's already connected. create_shopping_campaign won't run without a linked feed.

What are product partitions and how do I bid on them?

A product partition tree subdivides your feed so you can bid differently across it. Use add_product_group, get_product_groups, update_product_group, and remove_product_group to split products by brand, category, product type, or item ID and set an independent bid on each partition — bid your bestsellers up and low-margin items down without rebuilding the campaign.

Why can't I add keywords to a Shopping campaign?

Shopping doesn't use keywords — Google matches your ads to searches from the product data in your Merchant Center feed (title, description, product type, attributes). That's why relevance lives in the feed and the partition tree, not a keyword list. To control where ads show, improve your feed data, scope the inventory filter (get_shopping_settings), or add negative keywords with add_negative_keywords to block irrelevant queries.

Compare

What's the read vs. write boundary on Google Shopping?

Adspirer is full read and write. It can pull reports, audit performance, and analyze data (read), and it can launch new campaigns, pause underperformers, update budgets, and adjust targeting (write). Two safety guardrails are hard-coded: new campaigns are always created paused so you review before they go live, and Adspirer cannot delete existing campaigns. You keep full control.

Standard Shopping vs Performance Max — which should I run?

Standard Shopping gives you direct control — you set the campaign, build the product partition tree, and bid each partition yourself. Retail PMax hands targeting and bidding to Google's AI across every channel and scopes to your feed via asset-group listing filters (add_asset_group_listing_filter). Many retailers run both: Standard Shopping for control, retail PMax for automated reach on the same feed.
